Tomorrow is the 1st of May, meaning it's the beginning of my Cave Chronicles updates. I'm more excited to share this on there than I thought I would be. After years of thinking up this story, planning the series outline and plots and characters, and then finally writing it, I can't wait to finally give it a public viewing. I put it to rest about six years ago, deciding to move away from dark fantasy in favour of more adult, more "literary" ventures (whatever that means... I've definitely grown up from that mindset), but I absolutely love fantasy, and after finding my old USB that contained all my Cave work earlier this year, I returned to this story, finished the first book (just shy of 90, 000 words), and began re-planning the rest of the series.
I've decided to upload it here with the hopes that it will get some sort of audience, but I don't want to just dump it all at once. I plan to post one new chapter on the first of every month, maybe sometimes I'll post twice a month if I feel too impatient. To commemorate the launch, the first six chapters of the first Cave Chronicles book, The Warlock will be uploaded tomorrow. It's all scheduled and ready to go, all it needs is a readership! I hope someone out there enjoys it as much as I have enjoyed writing it.
Tomorrow is also the day I begin to send off my most recent work to agents. My last rejection letter was actually quite kind, it felt a little more personal than a standard form rejection, so I have a little more confidence that The Book will find a home this year. I hope that on the 30th April 2019 I can re-visit this post as a writer with an agent (universe, work for me). I've departed from my usual study of the Writers' and Artists' Yearbook in favour of stalking friendly agents on Twitter. I now have a revised list of "dream agents" based on the friendliness of their tweets alone. New era and all that.
Well, please enjoy the story of Penelope Sloan, Forrest Gardner, Riider Malone, Hollow Walker, Tick-Tock, and all the other Creeps of The Cave ;)
